Mina Baie is the diaper bag company for moms who hate diaper bags
I’m Jenna Sá Freire — plant junkie, Marie Kondo enthusiast, mom (ie: wearer of many hats) and founder of Mina Baie Los Angeles. My company runs on coffee, laughter, and the unwavering belief that women run the world. With a passion for both style and minimalism, I set out to create a modern, chic diaper bag that ‘sparks joy’ for both moms and women alike.
Mina Baie launched in 2014, after a fruitless search for a diaper bag that would elevate my outfit, like designer bags are meant to do. Rather than modern and versatile, I found busy prints, cheesy colors, and frumpy designs. With each diaper bag I tried on, I slipped further toward the belief that motherhood, indeed, cramps your style.
Rather than just accepting this belief, I began to feel empowered. I asked myself, “Are you going to settle for a bag that makes you feel like a lesser version of yourself?!” The answer was a resounding: No! I concluded that I would design my own bag… because that seemed like the obvious, reasonable thing to do.
The modern woman does so much—she works, she governs, she travels, she advocates, she births life and raises life up. She is front and center, spinning hundreds of plates, and she deserves a bag that can do it all, just like her.
Embracing the diversity of modern womanhood with each of my designs, I aim to both facilitate women’s lives, making them more organized and effective; and to spruce up their style… because nothing says, “I’ve really got my act together,” like a beautiful, versatile bag.
My hope is that Mina empowers women and is proof that we don’t have to give up our style in order to be a mom. I didn’t!
